New Jersey Residential Energy Efficiency Incentives - 2011


The New Jersey Office of Clean Energy sponsors the Home Performance with Energy Star program to incent homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient. This is a $30 million budget limited program available on a first come, first served basis.

When Home Energy Matters, a BPI accredited contractor enrolled in New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program, inspects, detects and corrects energy loss problems in your home, you are able to take advantage of incentives described below. These incentives are not income based, eligibility depends on how much energy your home can save.

Contractors not certified through BPI or enrolled in the New Jersey Clean Energy Program WILL NOT be able to give you access to the New Jersey incentives and rebates.

If your house can reduce energy use
by 25% or more:
If your house can reduce energy use
by more than 20% but less than 25%:
  • 0% financing, up to $10,000 over 10 years(for qualified homeowners)
    AND
  • Cash back rebate up to $5,000
    AND
  • Maximum incentive - $15,000 of work with no immediate out of pocket expense, $83.33 per month.
  • 0% financing, up to $10,000 over 10 years for qualified homeowners
    AND
  • Cash back rebate of $4,000
    AND
  • Maximum incentive - $14,000 of work with no immediate out of pocket expense, $83.33 per month.
If your home can reduce energy use by more than 10% but less than 20%:

Cash back rebate of $2,000
AND

0% Payment plan up to $5,000

These incentives are subject to project approval and loan approval by state contractors working for NJ Clean Energy. Rebates may be stopped by NJ Clean Energy with limited advance warning. Interested customers should act quickly.
